Big Boi's Ballet Production
Big Boi and Janelle Monae perform at the Atlanta Ballet In Big Boi's ballet "Big". Whatever man, I would go see this if I had the chance, not only am I a big fan of Outkast and Big Boi, but I recently got into Janelle Monae's stuff, her EP was off the hook. The style is ridonkulous, hopefully she won't get slept on. Check out her EP right here on h²g.
Shout out to Eskay and Miss Info for this.

Rising Down (Album Version) - The Roots

I was down at The Roots' blog and I found this. It's a little different from the one that was leaked like a month back. I'm not sure which one I like better. Whatever, they're both dope.
Rising Down (Album Version) - The Roots
In other Roots news though, I recently read somewhere that The Legendary Roots Crew is gonna release.. wait for it.. 9 videos for their upcoming LP Rising Down. Word is that they arent even gonna appear in over half of them.
The Roots’ collaborations with Rik don’t stop there, and not by a long shot. Over the weekend they agreed to shoot videos for songs “Criminal,” “Rising Up,” “Rising Down,” “Singing Man,” “I Can’t Help It,” “Unwritten,” and “I Will Not Apologize.” According to this plan, that basically leaves “The Show” (featuring Common and Truck North) and “Lost Desire” (featuring Malik B. and Talib Kweli) that won’t have videos. The first video to be shot will be “Rising Up” on April 14th. The Roots will not appear in all (or even most) of the videos.
Also, the Birthday Girl video should be dropping soon it's going to feature adult film star (porn star) Sacha Grey, it was directed by Rik Cordero, he's been on top of his hip hop video producing game lately. For most of you this might be a little old but whatever.
A still from the video:

Nelson Mandela's Birthday and Em is invited?

The poster boy for Anti-Apartheid turns 90 on July 18. Nelson Mandela who spent 27 years imprisoned for resisting white minority rule before serving as South Africa's president from 94'-99' has organized in conjunction with his AIDS charity "46664" (His old prison number) a concert in London's Hyde Park. The Concert will be held on the 27th and will be hosted by the "Fresh Prince" and his Wife Jada Pinkett-Smith. Eminem had been asked and confirmed to preform as well as Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox and Razorlight. U2, The Spice Girls and Paul McCartney have also been asked to preform.
"This year's birthday celebrations aim to celebrate Mandela's ideas rather than just the man" said the chief executive of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, Achmat Dangor.
This will probably be one of the biggest charity and music events of the year, but I really don't get why they would invite Em of all people? Not that I don't like the guy but I mean he's not exactly one the acts that come to mind when you say charity or AIDS. U2 obviously Stevie for sure but Em? Oh and not mention that Will Smith and Eminem exchanged words a couple years ago. It would be hilarious if Will took a shot at Em after he preformed... Personally I think this is just Em being your typical white guy after being called a racist, "I've have tons of black friends...SEE"
